IWS600-CM is a human presence sensor that can detect movements up to approximately 5 meters away. It is easily integrated into custom systems since values can be obtained via control commands.

Uses a high-precision infrared sensor module manufactured by Panasonic.
Simply plug it into a computer's USB port to operate; no drivers are needed and it can be used immediately.
Compact size approximately 7cm x 3.5cm. Equipped with M3 screw holes on the flange, it can be easily mounted on substrates or walls.
Multiple IWS600-CM units can be connected to one computer.
This sensor is applicable for various research and development purposes including security, life support, welfare, and automation.
Mass production supported. Orders in units of 1,000 are also possible.

About Pyroelectric Infrared Sensors

These sensors detect human bodies across a wide area. The above command is an example of reading the sensor status from the first IWS600-CM connected to the computer. When executed, the command displays a number every 0.1 seconds. The first two lines (0.2 seconds) display a 0, indicating no detection. From the third line onwards, a 2 is displayed, indicating detection. The output from the iws600cm command can be redirected to other programs for control or logged into a file.

Alternative Model: Virtual Keyboard Type IWS600-KY

As an alternative model of the IWS600-CM, there is the IWS600-KY which operates as a virtual USB keyboard. When a person is detected, it simulates pressing the 'H' key, and when no detection, the 'L' key is pressed. Consider this model if you want further ease of integration with custom programs.

Cautions

The sensor does not measure distance; it only detects if a heat source has moved in front of the sensor. If distance measurement is necessary, please consider the related product "IWS520."
