TDSN3820 is a USB device and software kit for measuring and visualizing noise contained in 100-250V commercial power supplies.
Features
- Easily measures ripple noise, spike noise, surge noise, and other types of audible and inaudible noise present in AC power lines.
- Ideal for understanding the noise environment of devices sensitive to electromagnetic noise, such as audio equipment and measuring instruments, as well as for evaluating the performance of noise suppression devices.
- Measurement results are displayed in decibels by frequency band, and time variations can be observed with a spectrogram display. Additionally, noise voltage is displayed in real-time as peak-to-peak values.
- The device supports screen screenshots, printing, and video recording.
- For safety, the measurement unit and the USB communication unit are electrically isolated. Additionally, it uses certified components for enhanced safety.
Measurement Video
In this example, numerous noise signals are detected in the 100V commercial power supply. A strong noise peak can be observed below 10KHz in the audible range and around 60KHz. Moreover, a noise source whose frequency changes over time can be detected around the 100-110KHz range. It was confirmed that noise levels decreased when large electrical devices in the surrounding area were turned ON/OFF. The noise peak around 60KHz was also observed to disappear at certain times of day.
How to Use
- Prepare a Windows PC and download/install the PowerLine Analyzer software from the link below.
- Connect the device to the USB port.
- Launch the software and establish the connection.
- Plug the test leads into the power outlet.
- Observe the changes in noise.
